Prime Hydration PFAS Lawsuit: Grape Drink

A new proposed class action filed in California takes aim at Prime Hydration LLC, alleging the company's Grape Sports Drink isn't the clean, health-focused beverage it claims to be. Prime markets the drink as naturally flavored and boosted with antioxidants, electrolytes, and vitamins — but according to the lawsuit, it actually contains per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, better known as PFAS or "forever chemicals," synthetic compounds that persist in the environment and body over time. The complaint points to independent third-party testing that allegedly found multiple PFAS compounds present in the grape-flavored version of the drink. Plaintiffs argue that had they known about the alleged presence of these chemicals, they either would have skipped the purchase entirely or paid less for it. The case is still in its early, proposed stage, with no settlement reached yet.
