Case overview

What this settlement is about

LG slide-in and freestanding electric ranges equipped with front-facing control knobs have been recalled after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission logged at least 86 incidents in which the knobs were accidentally activated — by people or pets bumping them — along with more than 28 resulting fires, plus reports of property damage and injuries. Rather than a class settlement, this is an open arbitration process: new clients can file individual private arbitration claims alleging LG breached warranties and consumer-protection obligations by selling ranges with this knob defect. To participate, owners need to supply details about their specific LG range, including its model and serial number.
