A proposed class action lawsuit, filed April 27, 2026 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, accuses IKEA of charging customers more for its products by passing on costs tied to tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) — tariffs that were later found to be illegal. According to the complaint, IKEA, as the importer of record, is entitled to seek refunds for those unlawfully collected tariffs directly from the government.
