Who may qualify?

- You signed up for Amazon Prime between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025.
- You used no more than three Prime Benefits during any 12‑month period between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025.

What this settlement is about
The FTC alleged that Amazon signed up some shoppers for Prime using deceptive enrollment screens and then made canceling the subscription unnecessarily difficult. Amazon has not admitted to any wrongdoing, but the matter has been resolved through a final order requiring the company to change its practices and pay monetary relief, made up of $1.5 billion in consumer redress plus a $1 billion civil penalty.
Not everyone has to take action: some affected consumers will be paid automatically. Others who don't qualify for an automatic payment may still be able to file a claim, and eligible consumers will be notified by email or mail with instructions on how to proceed.
To qualify for a Claims Process Payment, you'll need to check a box on the claim form affirming one of the following:
- You were enrolled in Prime without meaning to be, or
- You attempted to cancel your Prime membership online but couldn't.
After you submit a claim, it will be reviewed, and if approved, you may be reimbursed for Prime fees paid during the relevant period — up to a maximum of $51.
