Case overview
What this settlement is about
A class action settlement has been reached in Ahlers, et al. v. Allina Health System, a lawsuit accusing Allina Health System of embedding tracking pixels on its websites that allegedly disclosed visitors' personal and health-related information to third parties like Meta (Facebook) and Google. Allina denies any wrongdoing, and the Court has not found that Allina violated the law — but it has granted preliminary approval to a settlement in which Allina will pay $12,500,000 to resolve the claims. Settlement Class Members who file valid, timely Claim Forms will be eligible for a pro rata cash payment drawn from the settlement fund, after the Court approves deductions for attorneys' fees, service awards, and administrative costs. No proof of purchase or supporting documents are needed — claimants only need to fill out and sign the Claim Form with their personal details and the Claimant ID from their notice, which is used solely to verify identity against Allina's records rather than to prove any loss. Anyone who believes they qualify but didn't receive a notice can call the Settlement Administrator at 1-800-956-7192 to check eligibility.
